Port Facility Security Assessment and Port Facility Security Plans 


G4S Risk Consulting was commissioned to conduct ISPS compliant security and vulnerability risk assessments (Port Facility Security Assessments) of five Port Facilities in Sierra Leone waters, including the Queen Elizabeth II Port, Kissi Port, Nitti 1 & 2 Ports, and Pepel Port facilities. The production of Security Assessments were complimented by a summary report for Management and the production of Preliminary Port Facility Security Plans for each facility. The purpose of this assessment was to help ensure that operations at these facilities is risk based, threat driven and in compliance with the International Ship and Port Security (ISPS) Code 2004.

The Sierra Leone Maritime Authority is the “Designated Authority” in Sierra Leone and acts on behalf of the Sierra Leone Government, the “Contracting Government”, through the Ministry of Transportation & Aviation with regard to Port Security for all ports in the country.

G4S Risk Consulting sent an experienced Ports and Maritime Risk Consultant to Sierra Leone for a period of 14 days to undertake this assessment in order to conduct research, practical site visits, and effective in-country stakeholder engagement.
